My thoughts exactly, enjoy all the maintenence costs and frequent intervals hopefully you don't plan on riding that everyday cause it will be in the shop constantly. Like my old landlord said about Duc's after having a 996 "nice bikes but damn they are tempermental almost like having a damn german car not designed as a daily commuter"
If it wasn't blue/white I would take buy it from ya

A buddy of mine races a Ducati 749 and it is nothing but problems. At our last trackday he ran I think 2 sessions and then the top end broke down. He is prepping his street ridden R6 for race duty as we speek to finish up the rest of the season.

But hey, whatever floats your boat!

Easily the most ignorant statement I've ever heard.
GRATS!

I appreciate all the free bumps (as it isa for sale thread) but don't forget this one little thing:

But here are some reasons he is selling his bike for the Duc:
The gixxer 1k is proving to be not the right bike for him. It is geared so incredibly tall, that putting around town in 2nd gear it's tough to keep the bike under 50 mph. Not to mention we frequently do 300-500 miles in a day on the weekends. Once in a while on the gixxer it's not bad, but every weekend it's not ideal. So he's looking for something a little more street oriented (yet still can perform) and something a little more comfortable. Plus he is also looking for something a little more rare. I'm not going to say you never see Monsters out there, but it's not like a race-replica where everyone and their cousin has one.
But he won't be getting the Duc if one of you guys don't buy it! haha.

Hey man I put 120k miles on my Audi A4 (01) before selling it. Three years later I still see it driving around town. I had very minimal problems with mine.

You can always change the plastics! But seriously I will vouch for how clean this bike is. When this kid was looking for a roomate in an apartment I declined because he is so **** and such a neat freak about everything I knew it would drive me insane. He keeps his bike super clean, always had the maintenance done, and really babies the bike a lot. It's never been to the track, I've never even seen him lift the front under uber hard acceleration. The bike is CLEAN.
