How much would you pay for a 2002 F4i?
Only 2,000 miles.
Dropped at low speed with some scratches on one side of the plastics. Passenger seats also not in the best condition. Otherwise, everything else is fine.
What would you pay for it, buying it from someone you know (a coworker)?

i think 4k would be a 'hookup' or steal deal from a friend if its as good of shape as you say
i could see it listing for like 5300 on egay/craigs
id say anything under 5 would be a good deal if frame/swing arm is fine and plastics are only very lightly damaged
pics would be nice

He agreed to $4k already, I just wanted to see your guys opinion on the matter.
I've seen them go for cheaper on CBR forums with damage, but now with such low miles. Frame is straight, guys a respectable guy. It's actually my brothers coworker.

i got my lightly damaged '01 with 9.5k on it for 4300 fwiw. so i would guess a year newer with way less miles would be a steal... but it wont be red/white

Nice deal
I sold my 01 with rearsets, high mount, undertail, solo seat, db screen, and other extras with 12k and it was wrecked for $4500 a year ago.
So id say if you can get it for 4 go for it.

I would shoot for $3k, seems more reasonable for a 5 year old bike that's been down with examples in good shape going for 4-5k. IMO, the low mileage doesn't make that big a deal on a bike that there are an abundance of.

Re: (Gizmo)
$4800 for an 03 with 8K here.
Tons of mods though (rearsets, ohlins damper, exhaust, galfer lines/rotors etc), so I thought it was a relatively fair deal (considering the CA markup as well).

4k is a good price for the riding season even with a it going down.
If It was at a low speed. Plastics aren't that bad tp pick up plus with low the miles it seems to be a good deal Id pick it up

I doubt I'll find a better deal, even in the off season. People want $4k for F3's and F4's around here with a lot more mileage. Some guy got offended when I offered him blue book (around $2100) for his 1991 F2, he was firm at $3200

Open up your search area, and deal with cash - thats your best negotiator, showing up with a pile of benjamins. I went ~6 hrs away to buy mine.

Places with an on and off season seem to be full of delusional sellers who believe their **** is gold. Don't buy into it, there are a few reasonable ones.

My search area is pretty large. I've been keeping an eye out for anything from WI/IL/IN/OH/IA. Always have cash on me.
Plus, I like the added comfort of buying from someone I know is a respectable person, rather than some random guy I find.

I can usually size up the seller and the bike within a few minutes. If the asshat radar is going off, I walk away

lol, good point.
We'll see what happens. My brother's going to talk to the guy for me today. (He lives about 2.5 hours north, so I'm letting my brother handle everything. He used to own a F4i, knows what to look for, and is a Buyer at Carmax so it's his job to buying stuff to resell for profit )

Re: (AdeJong 03)
almost every bike that i've bought used has been down
it happens and just because it has occurred doesn't mean that the bike is shot.
that's a steal
low mileage as well
