oil light blinking
okay, so my oil pressure light is blinking in my dash. I hooked up a gauge to the oil line feeding my turbo and it reads 40 psi at idle (kinda high?), so I know that there is pressure. Is it just a band sensor? The car didnt have any problems before, but its been sitting for a few months. I made sure to prime the motor first. If the gauge is reading pressure, then I have nothing to worry about, right?

you can be missing like 2.5 quarts of oil and still have perfect oil pressure...
Is there any way you can check the oil pressure at the block?
It kinda sounds likea faulty sensor to me, if youre not getting pressure to the block, then the light should just be on, not blinking.

I had a problem one time where my oil light was flashing while the car was running. At the same time I also had a problem where my battery light would come ON when the car was OFF, and it would stay on until the next time I started the car. Then the battery light would go off.
As weird as it sounds, replacing the alternator fixed both warning light problems.
