Default Header flange thickness

Hi guys,

I'm planning to make a header flange. I'm not too sure what material I'm going to use but probably stainless steel. I was wondering, would a 10mm header flange be ok to use?

Thanks for the help

N/A header, maybe. Stainless will warp more.
I go 1/2 on almost everything. It may be overkill, but it will last.

So would mild steel be less likely to warp?

i have no experience with ss head flanges but 3/8" or 1/2" has worked fine for me.

Almost all the flanges i cut for local turbo manifold makers here are 1/2 inch mild steel,
on rare occassion do i make 3/8 inch flange for them. I am not a welder but i would recomend 1/2 inch steel wiether it be mild or stainless.

Thanks for the replies. I'll probably go for mild as it seems the better option.
