I finally may get my car back!!!
i talked to the dealer quite a few times this week. they didnt even start pulling hte motor until monday. they were waiting 2 weeks for a damn bolt! for a bolt! anyways, woosaawww... so yea, i call up there today and the guys says "they got the motor in they have already fired it up and they are under the hood right now adjusting valves or tinkering or whatever it is they have left to do." now keep in mind they have had my car since june 3rd. i get a call about 2 hours later that goes like this...
Me: hello?
Honda: hey man ur radiator is shot so we have to order a new one
Me: what the hell man? how have u had my car this long and u JUST now saw it?!?!
Honda: man i dont know what to tell u. we'll try and get one here by tomorrow
Me: well man i have been using my moms car and she is going out of town like thursday so i NEED my car back. u have had ample time to find out what parts woudl need to be replaced! and why did u say they would not install a new clutch if i provided u with an OEM one?
Honda: because they wont have to remove the old clutch
Me: well thats funny because if u are puttin in a new block then u will
Honda: man they wont do it. thats all i can tell ya. i'll call u when its ready

Honda: yea u have. i'll call u as soon as i know something. in fact i'll run to the phone to let u know that u can come get it
Me: oh really? that sounds great. i really appreciate all ur hard work and help with this situation like when u didnt bother to call american honda to ask them if they would help me at all. and if i hadnt done it then u would have been charging me full price. thanks alot man. i really appreciate it. i'll make sure to give u good remarks when american honda and i speak next

so yea... that is pretty shitty of them. hopefully it will be ready tomorrow. i will definitely be notifying american honda that i appreciate their 50/50 split but i do not appreciate the dealerships work one bit.
so hopefully i will have my car back tomorrow. so far it was just the head and block. so we'll have to see how much i actually have to pay. im assumign somewhere in the neighborhood of $4200ish

Man I'm surprised they're treating you that way and talking to like that. That sounds kinda shady that they're just now telling you the radiator is shot. Sounds like they're just trying to get more money outta you so they're replacing parts that don't really need to be replaced. If it really was shot seems like they would've noticed and replaced it waaaay earlier.
well i got it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to the tune of $3807.92!!! so its not so bad. that is a new motor (block and head), radiator, starter, fan and shroud, and the labor. the labor was only $800. so not so bad. but yea... my mom took me up there and i was inside paying and she was just kinda loafin around... well she over heard them talking about me and apparently the dealership is pissed as hell that they had to do a 50/50 split. and when i was checking out the cashier asked why they only did a 50/50. she assumed they would have done a full split. i told her i didnt know and started to explain the story. told her i would be going after a full refund from honda due to the level of service i received (or the lack there of) and as i was telling her this the main guy i've been dealing with and the one that has said everything negative thus far walks up and just gives me this eat **** and die look. so i proceeded to ask him a thousand questions that were completely useless but i knew would **** him off. i asked if they changed my oil (and yes i know that they had to due to a new motor) but the oil life was at 90%. it was at 70% when i brought it in. he said they just didnt reset it. how did it go down 10% from the time they did everything if they havent been driving it like a bat out of hell? and why do i have to keep it under 3k rpms for 3500 miles? that seems a bit excessive.
also, no pics of hte blown block or fried head. they didnt bother to leave it sitting htere for a full day before they crated it up and shipped it off. so yea, im pissed but i'm about to head back to work and take my baby on a nice easy drive tonight.
and tokyo, we are going to gwar! i got it back and we are up and running. my number is 901-292-5062. so gimme a call when u are getting close to memphis and we'll figure out where to meet up.

i was just messin with ya tre. haha. anyway, yea maggot i f***ed up somethin awful. i'm gonna try and fight it now just because of how i was treated. hopefully everything was installed properly.
one thing they didnt do... they didnt bother to wipe off anything under the hood from where the oil and coolant shot everywhere. so im gonna have to spend a full day out there detailing my car before honda-tech meet in nashville. i'll make it bling like hell. and i have been absolutely meticulous about washing my car... well they rinsed off the smudges they left on it and the coolant that was all over the rear end... well i nwo have swirl marks and **** all over the car. so now i have to wax that bitch really well

yea if SMo was still around he could tell you how to get ahold of Honda directly he just got done dealing with them and got all the **** fixed on his car that hes had problems with since he bought it.

This actually could be correct. If you got a new block and head from factory inventory, then there has not been any pre-dealer brake-in performed. I believe, the motors are partially broken in at the factory during vehicle assmebly, before shipped to the dealers.
Glad you got your car back. In my opinion, take it nice and easy as they recommend. You do not want to have to deal with that dealer again.
