-vtec set-ups hereWho is running a straight b20 set-up?? Post your set-up or comments..
So lets hear it. What are you b20 non-vtec set-ups. What went into the swap?tranny? ecu?
Ive been looking at ls swaps and figure this is worth it since the b20 long blocks are going for 799.
TIA

whats up mike D, where did you see b20z long blocks for that price of $799. i would sure like one. i am in chicago. thanks
I picked up my B20z for $500 from a junkyard with a cracked vavle cover. It didn't come with any accessories at all. I rebuilt it, put eagle rods and forged pistons in it. Picked up a decent head off of thepartstrader. I'm using a stock 99 si tranny with a SS ACT clutch. I haven't put in my 404's yet because I'm breaking my motor in. As of right now with my setup and without the 404's and no tuning, I'm happy. It wouldn't have been worth the bottom end buildup if I didn't run some huge nonvtec cams or even a vtec head. The engine has gobs of torque. I can make 5th scratch easily. That's how much torque this thing has.
If I was to do it all over I would have picked up a B18c5 complete swap and called it a day. Or picked up a gsr block and bored/resleeve it to 85mm and go the vtec route the right way. You will be happy wit a b20 but it will be a money pit before you are done.
