Default a few tech questions?

i just bought a 2003 RSX base and as i was driving it home the engine light came on. so i stopped at AutoZone and had them check the error code and they said that it was mis-firing in second. i was wondering if this is most likely the plug or the cable coming off the plug (ive never messed with an engine that didn't have a group of wires for all the plugs...) is this a common problem? the car has 63K miles on it and who knows if the plugs have ever been replaced. and any suggestions for early upgrades would be much appreciated. THANKS

i swapped out all 4 plugs today and had the error code cleared and the light came back on later in the day... i guess it could be the wires?

Ummm, I kinda doubt it is a problem with the spark plug wires.

i agree. especially since the coils come right off the plugs. the car seems to be running ok, but that damn light is still on and still saying that cylinders 1, 2, and 3 are mis-firing. every auto store i go into tells me that if 3 out of the four cylinders are actually mis-firing, then my car would be running like ****. im just not sure if there is anything else that controls how the cylinders fire that i could swap out. if anyone else out there has had a problem like this, I'd be glad to hear from you.

I took it out testing it on some back roads and noticed that i seem to have VERY little power until i hit around 4000 rpms. And a base RSX should be able to peel out a little when i floor it in manual mode in first from a dead stop, right? cuz mine isn't...

switch coil on plugs to see if the problem follows the coil if it does then you know what your problem is and then just get the one replaced.
