Bought it for 600 and it wasnt running. Guy told me when he went to start it up the spark plug wires shorted out on the valve cover and he said the Ignition control module was dead. So went and bought an ICM from autozone for 100 bucks. Replaced it and put it all in and nothing. Engine turns over but wont spark. Thought maybe i need some new spark plugs as the others were very old. Got some new ones and put em in and nothing. Took em out to test the spark and no spark. So I took this 100 dollar ICM back and ordered a new dizzy off ebay. Should get here this week. Now are there any other things I should check before I install the dizzy to see if it could be another problem?

 

Why did you buy a dizzy without checking to make sure it was bad???
I have personally seen the rotor in the dizzy come off, and cause the car not to spark.
There is a little set-screw on the rotor itself... if its falls out, the car stops running.
It will still crank but will not spark and will not start, obviously.
Check it and let me know what you find.
