Default Driver side window problem? 99 Si

I have a problem with the driver side window.
its on a honda civic si 99
The window goes up and it doesn't go up fully. I falls back down like 1/4".
I know that the window falls off track once in awhile, but this is not it.
It makes a tick, tick, tick noise when it goes up near the end. It makes a struggle.
Thanks in advance

While typing a response, I'm realized that there's a good chance someone tried to break into your car...

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by inthad &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The window goes up and it doesn't go up fully. I falls back down like 1/4"... It makes a tick, tick, tick noise when it goes up near the end. It makes a struggle.</TD></TR></TABLE>So, does it reach the top (FULLY closed)? This would rule out any (1) binding or obstruction in the Glass Run Channel. If it DOES CLOSE FULLY, then there might be (2) a problem with the alignment of the Regulator and Motor. However, if it NEVER FULLY CLOSES, then it could be (1) AND/OR (2). If the "tick tick" is coming from the inside of your Door Panel, near the front of your Window Switch, then it might be your Motor Running out of gearing to push. The final Tooth of the Regulator would keep hitting the gear of the Motor, making a periodic "tick tick" sound...

How long does it take for the Window Motor to quit? Does it stay on forever? This might be a stuck Relay (EDIT: ixnay on the Stuck Relay.. I don't think it would cause your problem, but I could be wrong about being wrong...), or what the Helm Manual calls a "Faulty Pulser" (WTF? A new insult!!! ). If you have one (a Helm Manual), then they have a couple of pages in the Electrical Section on troubleshooting... Go figure, an "Open In Wire" is a possible cause for every case...

Do you have an Alarm installed that's connected to your Power Windows? Most people don't, but sometimes this can contribute to a problem like this. Also, did this happen "Out of the Blue" (no previous work done, 1st time occurrence)?

The thing is, if you haven't done any work with your Window, then I'm thinking someone tried to force it down, and knocked it a couple of teeth lower than where it should be. So, when your Window Motor tries to push it up all the way, it can't... It runs out of gearing... Just a thought...

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by inthad &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I know that the window falls off track once in awhile, but this is not it.</TD></TR></TABLE>Does YOUR Window fall off track once in a while, or are you acknowledging the frequency with which it occurrs in others' vehicles? If you're talking about *your* Window, then we need to consider that as well. If this hasn't happened to you yet, then don't worry about it until it does (not too bad to fix)...

In any case, stay vigilant, and make sure your security's tight! GL!

Well, the tick noise is coming for inside the door panel. The window goes almost all the way up and its about 1/4" off to the top. It struggles to keep pushing up to the very top. When it gets near the top it starts to make the tick noise. But I looked at the gear and its not running out of it.
This just happen, out of nowhere.
Nobody try to steal anything, cause I have my eyes on it.
Yea, So how do you fix it? If its off line? or do I have to get a new regulator? motor?

if ur window didnt get off track, get so silicone grease and spread it by the rubber part near the top of the window.

and if that doesnt work, 99 civic coupes have a defective window regulator
