clutch causing awful noise
I own a 2001 prelude. About a day or so ago I let a friend drive my car and ever since then, my clutch makes a really horrible sounding squeaking noise when completely engaged. When the clutch is pressed all the way down it is next to impossible to put it into any gear. When it is pressed only partially in it makes no noise at all. The car only has 73000 miles on it. I was not expecting problems from it so soon. Any input on what this noise could mean would be greatly appreciated.
sounds like your throwout bearing. it's part of your clutch assembly, you have your pressure plate, your clutch disc, and the throwout bearing. a bad bearing usually sounds like that.
