i have a vitara built z6 block with a y8 head on it. i have tried a few different timing belts on it but all seem a little loose. i have a z6 belt on right now and seems to fit the best but still loose. is there a different belt i should use? any help will be appreciated
Try loosening the tensioner, rotate the crank pulley counter clockwise just a bit. Should take the slack out of the left side of the pulley system. Then, get a coat hanger, fold it in half, and then fold it so there is a hook on the end that you folded in half. Then stick that down and grab a hold of the tensioner. Pull up hard, and tighten the bolt. See how that is.
