insurance price & color
I tried to search for the answer and came up with over 80 ramdom *** results so here we go. Is it still true that a red or yellow car cost more for insurance? Was that ever true or was it like an urban legend? I'm shopping now for a red S2000, I just want to know if I should expect to pay a tremendous amount more in insurance. I did call my insurance company and the woman said it doesn't matter anymore, but those ppl that work in the call centers like that don't always know what they're talking about. So any constructive input would be appriciated! Thanks

Well, I always thought thit existed myself. Until, my school had insurance agents come in and talk to classes about drivers-ed and stuff like that. I do remember asking two agents on seperate occasions about this. They both said No, that does not matter at all, the only things that really matter now are history and probability(ie. your moms, dads, brothers past history).
What sucks is due to them, if they have bad records it's automatically assumed you will have one so your premium is high from the start.

Nope. The ONLY record that matters if yours.
Just a FEW of the things considered when you are applying for a policy:
Age
Driving Experience
Insurance History (How long have you been insured)
Violations Minor and Major (Tickets, Accidents)
Area of work and garage (Calculated by Zip Code)
Auto (Cost, High-Performance, Coupe, etc)
Color is not one of them.

Dont talk to that agent anymore lol. I know Insurance laws differ from state to state....... But I see no way how something like that could be plausible in calculating rates.

What is listed was only a few of the criteria needed for a rate.
It is nearly impossible for me to try an quote you with knowing that you drive an s2k and live in Sactown. lol.
Best advice would be to CALL (websites are usually inaccurate) an Insurance office and get a quote. Only takes about 3-5 minutes too!

If thats directed to me - I'm looking at 300 to 450. I just need to sell my bike. It sits more than I can ride it, and my 91 se-r is pretty shitty and the ac isn't running very cold right now. And if your not in Fl its been hotttttt as expletive!

im 17, (no S2000 yet, so would be) 500/mo from allstate! 50/mo if ur 55 and happen to be my mom
the accord is 450/mo for me, so its not that much of a diff than any other car from what ive hear/seen
maybe 10% higher than a sedan i guess
btw clean record/clean car
