I've got an 01 gsr at 54k miles with a kms valve train.... springs, retainers, forged valves, and ctr cams, adjusted valve lash to spec when i installed the cams. i've been boosted for about 9 months (9lbs) added the cams at 8 months and retuned good fuel curve, and then one night my motor just shut down, no noise no warning just cut out. found what looked like contaminated oil/coolant on the inside of my throttle body. pulled off my intake and exhaust manifolds and found cylinder 4's intake valves shattered and the piston chewed to hell when i removed my spark plugs and found # 4's plug was completly melted off at the end of the threads, all the rest of the valves, plugs, and pistons look fine what in gods name could of caused this?

 

Satan took a dumb in your engine. But in all seriousness I have no idea what could've caused that from what you described. Timing belt was intact? Head gasket too?

 

How was the engine tuned?

 

was tuned with chrome pro, and it was the tune that caused this, cyl 4 was detenating.... dont trust your motor with crapy tuners!!!!
