what are the causes of dropping and snapping valves
as title states... would like any imput....
I just pulled the motor apart and #3 cylinder is sporting 2 broken valves, chunks missing out of the head and scores on the bore!!! go figure???
is it tuning, too high rpm??? what else

missed shifts
broken valve retainers
improper installation of valvetrain/timing belt
piston/rocker arm binding due to insufficient oil pressure causing valvetrain
to stop and pistons to keep moving. code 22 may be a foreshadowing of this.
improperly installed cams
improper cam gear settings, high rpm
sustained high rpms with improperly lashed valves on agressive cams
binding valvetrain
unchecked piston to valve clearance at ultimate valve lift
and rod stretch at top engine operating speed
there are some ideas. sorry to hear about the bad news
