fuse/electrical...need help
ok so i bought a phone charger for my car and i go to plug it into my power outlet/cigarette lighter outlet and it doesn't work so i try it in my other civic and it doesn't work in that one too. so i figure its a problem with the charger but jus to check i try it in my dads Mazda and it works. so my question to you is what is wrong with my power outlet? could it be a fuse or is there something wrong with the wiring? thanks for any help
ooh yeah i have a 99 ex coupe and a 96 ex coupe they were both running at the time if that makes a difference.

This is a dumb question, but Im going to ask anyhow... is the car turned on (a/c)? My civic will not charge a phone when off, but my fathers expedition will.

most fords and GM vehicles have active power outlets without the key being on. it's friggin stupid if you ask me. i've had people come into my shop after installing some equipment and come in and bitch me out saying that i fucked something up and it made the battery drain....when they forgot they left their huge, ugly Valentine 1 radar detector plugged in and on for days.

i believe that 95Project was asking you if you had the key in the ACCesory position....not if you had the air conditioning on. if i'm not mistaken all hondas have to have the key in at least the ACC position (postition I for the layperson) for the lighter plug/power outlet to have power.
word of advice though....anytime anything electrical stops working in any car....check all your fuses with a continuity meter first...not by eye!
