I'll let my pics to do most of the talking. I made sure i tighten the oil filter after the oil change. Also, i'm getting really bad mileage (like 20mpg per tank of gas) I'm currently driving a 93 civic dx 5spd hatch. Help would be great!

who knows man? but take off the headers. if u see leakage inside the 4 holes (oil). u might of blown ur piston rings?

i don't want to keep running low MPG on my car. It's either get it fixed quick, or swap!

Any chance that it's from the fuel system?

i would have to agree on both of these.

my leaked like a **** cause i didnt put enough honda bond on the VC gasket.

my cam was bent from shipping and well it leaked from teh cam seal...exactly what you have.

that's probably the reason that makes me get low MPG too right? :D

 

Valve cover gasket, spark plug seals, and cam seal .... I'm baking on replacing all of these. Should run you around $40-50 for all the gaskets and a tube of Honda Super Gray RTV.

no.

 

You guys are pointing in the wrong direction. If you look at the pics the bottom is soaked while the head is just dirty. These lead to signs of oil pan gasket or oil pump gasket.

 

the valvecover isnt leaking, the spark plug o rings are not leaking because that would flood the spark plug area causing the plugs to foul and misfire. that could even be your headgasket or the oil pump because if you dont already know as long as there is dirt and grime oil can creap a long ways around an engine leading you on the wrong track.

My advice is so spray some heavdy duty degreaser on the oil areas and let it soak and then rinse it all off until there is no longer any oil on your motor. After this take it for a spirited drive and then it should be much easier to pinpoint the leak rather than guessing random **** on your motor.
