Vitara pistons?? This setup looks decent on ebay. anyone ever use them?? Looking for results they got and how much boost they used. Basicly anyone who has boosted a d16 looking for the build they did and what pistons they used ect and the cost of the build?

building right now. Don't know how much boost you are running but vitari seems to be alright i hear of a lot of people using them. The only think i see wrong with vitari is they are not forged. I am using CP Pistons, forged, 254 grams apeice, floating pins came with pins, rings and spec sheets and instilltion and operation recommendations for 550. 9.0 CR for a Z6

I have not used them (going to use CP) but I know a few people that have used them with great results. I would not mind buying some for a d16 if I had not already bought my CP's.

I have seen them hold as much as 400hp. For most street cars that are not making crazy power on the single cam, they will work just fine.

BTW PSI does not kill motors/parts, HP kills motors/parts. PSI=HP varies from turbo to turbo.

Get a real good tune and i doubt youll need new pistons on a d. other things will go before the interior engine parts will. I was readin a dude was running 17 lbs on a stock everything GSR with a real nice tune.

Once again PSI means nothing. HP is what kills motors

And the rods will break before anything else. The rods in the d-series are extremely small. You can't really compare the D series to a B series. The parts are much different. I will agree though that a good tune will be easier on parts.

They are a good choice for relatively modest power levels, although there is someone on dseries.org that is running 400+whp on Vitaras. Rods are what is important on a D16, the stock ones are hella weak. Go with Tunertoyz or Eagle.

^^^ i think you mean the rods are the weak point.....

anyhow...I'm on the finishing stages of building my vitara/eagle build and i used the 75mm....My piston to wall clearances are .0045 and I'll be boosting to hit at least 325whp more like 350whp as a daily driver
