I have a 90 integra w/ a ys1 tranny...When i just drive around whenever i shift into 4th it pops out as soon as i hit the gas...But if i shift then let the clutch out what a sec then hit the gas it will stay in...Also if i'm going aroud a corner to the right it will pop out....What is going on the tranny only has 70k on it?

 

My dads old Nova had the same problem, iirc the linkage was bad.

 

my car has that problem also too and it does it to first gear also but it pops out hard and fourth like slips out

 

mine pop out of fifth sometime when im drivin on the freeway

 

could be the syncros

might also be the linkage

 

i had the same problem in my b20 with gsr tranny it kept poping out of 5 gear,
i put tranny oil in and it was fine after that.

check maybe you need some oil.

the syncros start over heating and it pops out of place

Low trans fluid will Definitely make it pop out of gear,
and if you don't fill it soon enough, I'm sure everyone knows what happens next.

 

classic sign that you're low on fluid.

drain & reFILL

 

If you drain and refill and it still does it, synchros are most likely toast.

 

thanks i will try it....i see some people use gm syncromesh should i use that when refilling?

 

wat should i use to fill up other than syncromesh, how mmuch would i need 91-ls tranny
