running pig rich, throwing code for o2 sensor, any help
hey guys... in advance, thanks for any help!
ok, i have a 94 VX hatch with a 94 LS motor in it... lately its been wasting a shitload of gas, i can barely get about 160-180 miles to the tank.... another thing is i took it to ref and failed smog as a gross polluter, the ref told me that its running pig rich and that i have a lot of carbon build up in the head...
and when i cruise in 5th gear, around 2500-3000 rpms roughly(b16 tranny) i cruise it for about 5-10 minutes and when i let off the gas, it throw CEL for o2 sensor, and i have a brand new o2 sensor.... can anyone shine some light on me? someone told me it might be my tps, but im not too sure... please help...

has the ecu ever thrown a knock sensor code... if its running that rich the sounds like the computer is in limp mode.... it just dumps gobbs and gobbs of fuel into the motor so it wont blow up..... get it checked out

im not about the WOT..but a friend of mine told me to set it at .45 for idle... ill try that out... and yeah it was throwing the CEL with the old o2 sensor...

no, it hasnt throw that code, i dont have the obd1 LS has a knock sensor, im not sure though, anyone correct me if im wrong?

Hmm thats weird. Maybe a clogged cat?
Other things to check that should be okay, but double check. o2 sensor (you have done already I guess), TPS, IAT, maybe an injector is stuck open (try some fuel cleaner or race gas).
