spoon calipers on 4x100
is it possible to put twin block spoon calipers on a 99 civic si?
my plan was to buy some type r or legend rotors and drill them out to 4x100.
is this possible?
BTW did search didnt find much.

From: Rollin on 24K Gold Lug Nuts..
it is possible but youll need GSR knuckles, 11" redrilled 4x100 rotors, and some machining of the caliper to get the right offset with the rotor..
Spoon calipers are for bling. They're totally overkill.
An integra front/rear brake setup with an appropriate proportioning valve will be MORE than enough to lock up our tiny honda wheels.

tell that to the itr guys
spoon calipers are a nice upgrade for track oriented cars that want to retain the stock rotor size. they offer better feel and modulation.

Not really, do you think a company like Spoon, who uses these calipers in 24 hour endurance races would use a caliper thats inferior to something that Honda used on a Legend? People have used these at trackdays for years and never had an issue. Yes they are pricey, but im pretty sure for our cars there is nothing better

Funny thing about brakes is, when you make your car faster, the car still weighs the same, and has the same stopping distance.
Good pads/fluid, rear disc conversion and a 1" mc will lock up any civic wheel/tire combo just as well as brembos/spoons can.

when u go faster isnt it harder to stop cuz of the added tq?
where can i get a 1"mc and what else is needed for this mod?

You're joking right?
1" mc's can be had at autozone for ~$40.
Ask for a 1990 Ex Wagon Master cylinder. Refurbished.
