I'm using Kyokugens on mine. If I got to choose again, I'd get the volk lugs though, the kyos have been coming loose quite easily (while on the track), even to the point there the wheel was moving and making noise. I torqued them to 80 lbs. but 4/5 on one wheel were finger-loose. I just heard that they need to be torqued past spec, anyone have any similar experiences?

My only other complaint is that the key will get stuck on the lugs, it feels like it turns over the flats, but it's not too hard to get off. Other than that they're pretty damn light and they look good, I got the black ones. Don't forget to put anti-sieze on the studs.

.....just get anything with a taper seat.

spoon, rays, kyokugen, mcgard, gorilla, etc...

i've never heard of anyone putting anti-sieze on their studs sackdz... maybe that's why they're coming loose?

I've heard many accounts that the Kyokugens would bind on the studs. The common solution seemed to be anti-sieze. The nuts still shouldn't come loose even with anti-sieze.

Kyokugen lugnuts are very nice, I use them with my rims, and have yet to have problems with them... *knocking on wood*

I use the same nuts w/my Spoons.

They are obviously a softer metal, and you have to be careful w/the key not to round the corners.

However, for the price, they are very lightweight, and I have not had any problem w/them backing off the wheels as you describe.

I make sure to slide the key completely on the flats before turning. It feels like the key is a little too big for the lugs. It will slide a bit (but never slip all the way), and when I'm done tightening I'll have to turn counter-clockwise while the key slips back to it's correct position and will easily slide off the lugs. The actual nut does not move during this, and it doesn't take a whole ton of effort it's just a little annoying.

Just get black chrome McGard lugs... it's kinda funny spending so much money on the lugs when slips are only a bit more than the lugs.

I have the black chrome McGard Spline Drives... I'm very pleased with them... Other than they're not very 'chromey'. They're pretty much just gloss black. My dads old TL had 'Black Chrome' emblems, and they were nice, they actually looked like chrome in a shadow. These lugs are not like that. Peep them:
