Rod modification
I have got a set of type r rod modified to install Wiseco pistons.
They get discoloreted for the heat used to make the work:

Could the rods be weak from it and going to fail?

From what i've read that means you, or whomever got it hotter then it needed to be. HOwever, my friend ran rods like that in his b16 with 10 pounds of boost. I too said the same thing, when it breaks we'll know why
However, no issues, i have since done my own rods, and ended up with the same color. So, from my limited experience, i say your good to go.
