Default Installing new valves

Is there anything you must be besides install them and adjust them ? Im talking maching wise ? Ive heard about lapping valves or something ?

I would take the head and valves to a machine shop. Verify that the valve stem to guide clearance is in spec, and have them do a full valve job to ensure the sealing surfaces are perfect.

If you don't want to spend the money, you could put some Dykem on the valves and seats then very lightly lap the valves with some fine lapping compound. That'll show you the contact pattern between the valve and seat. If it's not sufficient, you'll need to have a valve job done.

The Helms manual shows how to do a check of valve stem to guide clearance, but it's not as accurate as mic'ing the stem and using a bore gauge on the guides.

unless u really know what ur doing,take it to a machine shop.better to spend a little money the first time,then whole lot the next
