Default Oil light on bad?

Ok this happened a couple weeks ago. The light turned on while on the road and I immeadiately pulled over. Checked and I was def low on oil (prob less than 2 quarts left). Shoulda have realized when vtec wasnt kicking in fully. Changed the oil on the spot. The light went away but Im wondering if I should run any tests or anything of that sort?

Yeah, its pretty bad.
It basically means you are at about a quart of oil left.
I know my oil rings are shot....don't have time to fix it right now

well as long as the car is running fine you should be good. pulling over the second the light came on was the smartest thing u did You got lucky try not to push ur luck next time. Check ur oil atleast once a week.

Does the car usually use a lot of oil? How many miles?

Im at 32k but I ran the full 5k limit for the recommended synth oil change. Cant say I was suprised bout this since I had been mad V-takking. Just suprised this car burns so much oil. Lesson learned. Came back from Expo and Im down to the first hole on the dip. Goin to Castrol Synth to see if it helps.

Wow, thats almost as bad as mine and I have 100,000 more miles! You should check for leaks, especially around the dip-stick area.

Mine did the same thing... then I had a spun rod bearing shortly there after (within 5-10K). GL on the rebuild. ALWAYS check your oil... it doesn't take that long.
