Default oil light

Okay yesterday my oil light came on. but not really bright.. and then it slowly dies out... and i keep driving and it came back on and slowly dies out again?

Is that a sign of a oil pump going bad?

drive as long as you can with you oil light on, its good for the motor

but on a serious note, check your oil its probably low. you might as well change the oil while you at it. i wouldnt drive you car till you at the very least check the oil and get it to the proper level

You could be/have....
Low on oil
Very high or low viscocity oil
Worn engine
Faulty pressure sending unit
Clogged filter

Safest thing to do would be to have the actual oil pressure tested. Could save your motor.

I tried to find the answer for you in archvies, but theres a bunch of reasons that could be causing that light to flicker on and off. try searching, i came up with 280 results.
