Default too much oil in crankcase

well my car has over 800 miles on it and i just found out that there is to much oil in the crankcase. i read the manual and it said should be between upper and lower marks. mine is full on a cold engine that wasnt started for over 2 days. Outside temp. is around 80 issh but in the garage its probably more. what should i do drain some out.?

It looks as though your oil level is at the full mark, which is perfectly fine. Keep in mind that the oil level in the pan will fall once oil begins to pump through the engine. Honda states that an "acceptable" oil level falls between the upper and lower marks on th dipstick. This basically means that a full level is desired, but anything between the level marks on the dipstick is OK.

What are you unsure about? Your oil level is at Full. Would you be happier if you had less than full?

You are at full after letting basically all of your oil drain into the pan (2 days sitting). You are fine, even if you were at full after beating on your car you would be fine IMO. Nothing to worry about at all, especially with the break in oil still in there.

That rule applies to automatic transmissions, not engine oil.

Any level on the dipstick that falls between the upper and lower marks, including at the full mark, is considered acceptable. Just look at it in the same way that you look at the level in your gas tank. A full tank of gas is best, but you are OK up to the point that your low gas light comes on. Leave the oil alone....enough said!

I don't have my decoder so I'm not sure what you're saying but it looks like you changed your oil at 2000 miles? On the first change? What was the rush to get the break in oil out?

Up the road , not across the tracks

OP, you are fine on your oil level. If you are worried and want a tech to look at it, go to the dealership. And enjoy your ride!
