Default Bubbles in oil - what does that mean?

I heard about it, but never seen it until now.

Stop at a gas station, and check the oil. So the engine is hot. I noticed tiny bubbles on the dipstick.

What does that mean? Good or bad? What caused it?

I believe that it's because there is too much oil in the engine, and it's boiling over. This is bad for the engine because the oil is boiling and offers no protection. True or false? Please confirm.

TIA

maybe because it was being shaken around by your driving? and technicly, more oil would make it less likely boil, even if your car should never attain that temperature.

Word...it was probably jsut being jarred...if ur oil is boiling...you have bigger problems, and like he said, basic chemistry - calorimetry, a larger object or mass takes longer to heat...I don't know what temperature oil boils at but if you consider it's full synthetic + very viscous, it's got to be pretty high..

Try running ur car for like 10 minutes, until it gets to standard operating temperature, make sure the temperature guage is okay...then check it again
