Default I Need Help A.S.A.P PLEASE!!!

ok i deffinetly need some help and fast...

Ive got a '91 civic hatch with a b18b, its got a built head with cams, cam gears, valve springs/retainers, intake mani, throttle body. It idles rough cause of the cams, but yesterday as i was driving to a buddies the check engine light came and it started to run really rough, more than usuall. i got to my friends house pulled the fuse for the ecu to reset the light. the light went out but now the car idles rougher than **** and has absolutely no power. i mean my buddies worn out z6 could spank me all day.

I pulled the plugs and checked them, they were alittle fouled so i cleaned the up, put them back in. pulled the cap off the dizzy and the inside of the cap had a bunch of like red powder and metal shavings, i cleaned that up through it back on started the car up and still no power, and this time the tach stopped working. the car will be moving but the tach needle stays at 0.

Please help!!! this is my daily driver and i need to get her up and running right again.

Thanks

But me buddy at toyota said to check the ignition coil in the dizzy... does that sound right?

If you've got metal shavings in there, then yes, I would try changing out the ignition coil if the distributor isn't that high in mileage, if it already isn't in great shape, I'd try to hunt down one that's known good for around 100-140 and just buckle down so you know it'll be reliable from there on out.

Good luck.

I had a crx with same problems, Opened dizzy cap and found metal shavings or like metal copper wires. Went and ordered a rebuilt dizzy and it came with new coil and ignitor. Fixed the problem 100%

metal shavings usually mean your distributor bearing is going bad.

http://www.DISTRIBUTORKING.com
the distributor shaft bearing is going out making the shaft flop around. the shavings get in the way of the reluctor sensors for tdc cyl sensor etc.. or it flops enough to mess up the sensing.

I'll tell you Distributor king is pretty good and you can call and speak to someone if you want. Ebay lists there number. I got my dizzy from autozone for like 240. I saw the DK dizzy and bought that one. Returned mine to autozone. They were way too much for that but i was in a jam. DK is the way to go!! Its like 130 or close to it on ebay! Go for it...
