Default 1991 CRX Si performance parts on 1987 CRX?

I have a 1991 CRX Si with body damage that is rotting in my driveway. I want to get a 1987 (or 1st gen) CRX. What of the performance parts on the 91 will go/fit on the 87?

The 91 has:

Full exhaust
Lowering springs
Intake
Possible others

The 87 would have one of these engines (not sure yet, checking it out later):

D13A2 1.3 8V SOHC 2bbl Carb 1342 60hp@5500rpm 73tq@3500rpm 87 Civic/CRX 1.3
D15A2 1.5 8V SOHC 2bbl Carb 1488 76hp@6000rpm 84tq@3500rpm 87 Civic/CRX 1.5
D15A2 1.5 8V SOHC 2bbl Carb 1488 58hp@4500rpm 80tq@2500rpm 87 Civic/CRX HF
D15A3 1.5 12V SOHC PGM-FI 1488 91hp@5500rpm 93tq@4500rpm 87 Civic/CRX Si

The 91 has this:

D16A6 1.6 16VSOHC PGM-FI 1590 108hp@6000rpm 100tq@5000rpm 88-91 Civic/CRX Si

I tried searching but couldn't come up with what exactly to search for.

Thanks!

Intake and the muffler (and maybe if you hack the rest of the exhaust up and re-weld) might be the only parts that would work. You might as well sell the parts you have and use the money for the 87.

does the motor run good in the 1st gen? does the d16a6 in the 2nd gen run good??? since it is multi point and not dual point injection you could look into a swap but that is up to you if it is worth it for like 15 more hp. but the d16a6 does have a more agressive cam and there are a lot more after market out there for it. like said above sell what you cant use. 1st gens are fun
also go to redpepperacing.com the best 1st gen site on the web.

D16a1 into the 87 Rex is your best bet...check redpepperracing.com. That mounts fit perfect I believe, then just change the carb system to injection. Or you can always go dual webber.

I have an 87 civic si. Nothing but the intake will swap directly over (if your lucky)

I had a dynomax muffler welded on, and I left the suspension stock.

You can order ground control coilovers for the rear, as well as GR-2 struts all around. Then you have to look into modifying your stock torsion bars or buying 20-23mm aftermarket ones to lower the front.

As far as swaps go..I don't think its worth swapping in a d16a6. Your best bet is to find a clean A1 brown top zc 87-88. That requires less wiring then the blacktop zc 89-90, but the blacktop is a few extra ponies.

If the stock si motor is healthy I'd leave that in. Ask thenick about its peppiness, I beat his dohc zc ef hatch with my 87 civic si

BURN!

Thanks for the great info!!!

The 91 si does infact run but not perfectly, it does burn oil, has an occasional hot start issue and a few other odd things (can't remember off the top of my head). Sounds like it is best to part the car out, sad because the exhaust on the car sounded so nice...

I am mainly after a daily driver / commuter car not anything to own people with
