ok story - in full I am going to have some kevlar mirrors made & need to know if spoon / vision mirrors are identical between eg/dc/ek & just use different bases to attach to the different chassis door's?

can the bases or mirror internals be purchased separately anywhere?

 

If you really want to know!.. Vision manufactures the mirrors for both spoon and vision. The first gen mirror housings and base were made of abs plastic, the mirrors them selves were NOT blue tinted and they had a rubber lining that went around the actual mirror. The second gen mirrors are different, they now come with the same abs plastic base but have carbon fiber mirror housings. In addition the second gen mirrors are now a blue tint and do NOT have the rubber lining around the actual mirror.

The mirrors and mirror housing are the same across the different chassis. As far as the bases go, i believe that the EK, EG and DC2 have different ones because of the changes in the mounting pattern.

I could be incorrect regarding the bases, can someone confirm?

With respect to the bases and mirror internals, I am sure you can contact one of the companies that make the knock-off mirrors and ask for the contact info on the company that actually does the manufacturing. With a big enough order I am sure you can work out a deal with the manufacturer where you can order the bases and internals in bulk. However, if you are making only one, you are better off going on ebay and purchasing one set of the knock off mirrors and using the parts you need.

from my experiences with dc and ek mirrors... they are both the same! (ive only dealt with spoons) but reading the above i guess its the same thing

 

From personal experience EG/EK/DC2/DC5 are all the exact same mirror w/ different plates.

Well its confirmed, each chassis has a different mounting plate.

how are you going to make the kevlar mirrors, ive always wanted a set but in the vision type dc style
