maintenance required light, now motor dont work and knocks?!?!
i just put a b18c jdm motor in from hmotorsonline.com,into my 95gsr, i had just hit my 925miles, and my maintenance required light came on, so i though it was something from the factory to turn on at a mileage, and i was driving home and my motor died down, and i can get it kinda started but really shitty, and its knocking really bad. the cam gears are still aligned, im waiting for it to get towed home right now, anyone know what could have happend?

well your maintainence required (not check engine) light is for routine 7500 mile maintainence. So that wouldn't really have anything to do with anything.
You might have just gotten a bum motor. Maybe the oil pump was weak or something like that.
If it's knocking, it's something mechanical. Rod knock is usually caused by low oil levels, or a spun bearing due to abuse. Lifter knock is usually a collapsed lifter or worn or broken cam..or a broken/burned valve, or something else in the head.
Check the oil when you get it home. If it was burning a lot of oil or leaking it, and it eventually went low enough, maybe you starved the motor at high RPM or around a long turn or something.
Did you prime the motor when you started it for the first time? If not, This probably wouldnt kill it....but it might have contributed.

Shot rod bearings more than likely, nothing to do with the maintenance light though. You probably got a junk motor that was beat to **** by its previous owner.
