Alarm remote wont work
im all about mechanical works and when it comes to electrical i rather ask the experienced or pro's help, the story is when i got out of the car activated my alarm system using the remote it worked fine after i got out of the store and tried to open and deactivate the alarm it wont work, replaced the battery still wont work, the LED light on the remote doesnt light up everytime i press any key, i got the marksman old style remote could it be just the remote? or i have to replace my whole alarm system?

It's obvious his Flux Capacitor is only running at eleventy million jigglewatts!! C'mon, B.. I thought you were better than that!
(EDIT:

In any case (to the OP)...
If you have another Remote, then try it. If the "Problem Remote" *USED TO WORK* (i.e. "light up" when buttons are pressed) but doesn't anymore, then it's not likely a problem with your Alarm, and it doesn't neccesarily need to be replaced.
But you first have to positively and accurately determine what you have. After doing so, you may be able to contact the manufacturer regarding spare remotes, and they can help give any/all information you need (rather, all the information THEY THINK you need). If you can't determine what you have, then post pics of your remote, and (if you can) your Alarm's Brain (front & back). There are guys in this forum (even B18C_EJ8!! heh) who have been working on this stuff for years...
But you'll have to put more effort in describing what you have, lest you desire the flaming whip job that you will undoubtedly get without it...
Best of luck!

I for one think it should be a rule, if you want help the MM&Y of car must be in the original post, along with makes and models of equipment, you know, just for us non mind reading members.

(yes, more sarcasm)
I think I used the wrong smiley face...
That, and it's much more likely that what I typed was much less funny than I thought...
(C'mon, man... "jigglewatts"??? Hahaha? Heh? Ahem...)
I think I have an idea of how poorly sarcasm translates in print... I was once fired for it!
I love being misunderstood!!!
I sincerely have the utmost respect for you and the guys/gals here. Without the help of this forum, I would have gained nothing in Knowledge nor Experience nor Confidence. For that, I am truly grateful.
And I also have the utmost respect for the sarcasm and sardonic delivery of information that is often found in this forum. It's FUNNY!
Forgive me for feeling a little silly today. I was in an unproductive mood, and why not remedy it with my favorite passtime (I did manage to offer some helpful suggestions, right?)?

Try reprogramming the remote, this is for the Marksman 3A... Step 2: Programming
A. Programming the Transmitters
The security system has 2 transmitter programming modes. Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed.
1. “Combined” button, (Button 1 is Arm/Disarm).
2. “Dedicated” buttons, (Button 1 is Arm, Button 2 is Disarm) (Factory default setting).
To program the transmitters:
1. Turn ignition to “On” position.
2A. Push the valet switch 3 times to enter “Combined Button Mode”.
There will be 1 long chirp and 1 short chirp of confirmation of entering combined button mode.
2B. Push the valet switch 6 times to enter “Dedicated Button Mode”.
There will be 2 long chirps and 1 short chirp of confirmation of entering dedicated button mode.
3. Press any button on 1st transmitter, 1 short chirp to confirm code is learned.
4. Press any button on 2nd transmitter, 2 short chirps to confirm code is learned.
5. Press any button on 3rd transmitter, 3 short chirps to confirm code is learned.
6. Press any button on 4th transmitter, 4 short chirps to confirm code is learned.
7. Exit transmitter programming by turning “Off” the ignition key or after 15 seconds the
security system will automatically exit transmitter programming and chirp 3 times.
Note: If more than 4 transmitters programmed, the system only keeps the last 4 transmitter codes. hope that works, can't find anything on the M3.

DONE. Except for one problem. A rule is meaningless w/out consequences. But locking the topic seems kind of harsh. If that's what you want to do though...
