Went to the 1/8th mile strip, I just want your opinions on these times
A couple of weeks ago I went to the local 1/8th mile strip just to try my car out and to see what it can do for now.
I ran 4 times that day and I only got one kinda good run, actually I wouldn't even call it good because I think its very slow for what I have but than I'm still using a stock clutch.
Keep in mind that this is on 17" rims and about 75 degrees outside..
I will go ahead and post all the times from the fist time I ran to last:
Run #1
Reaction: 1.3510
60 FT 2.8500
330 FT 7.0950
1/8 ET 10.2176
1/8 MPH 80.55
Run #2
Reaction: 1.2857
60 FT 2.7659
330 FT 6.9977
1/8 ET 10.0957
1/8 MPH 81.37
Run #3
Reaction: 1.2943
60 FT 2.5357
330 FT 6.5990
1/8 ET 9.6659
1/8 MPH 82.11
Run #4
Reaction: 1.1290
60 FT 2.7883
330 FT 7.2159
1/8 ET 10.4442
1/8 MPH 77.35
The 3rd run was the best one out of them all so tell me what you think about this whole thing...
Adi
ooh man those 60fts are pretty high up there.
work on that, for now. that is the most important part at this point.
play with different launching techniques and see what gets you the best results.

The key is definitely the 60 foot times. You should be able to get into the 2.2 0-60 times on street tires. Just think about it, that will drop your best time by like 5 tenths. The key is experiementing. My best method so far is a straight clutch drop at about 2500 RPMs, but I know most Si guys do a slip in the higher RPMs.
OMG 60ft times suck ***. My gmom could get better 60ft times. Once you improve on that you will be good, oh by the way are these your Turbo times. Cause your best 1/8th was a 9sec thats like 15's in the 1/4 but if your 60's were better that would improve, its hard to say what you will run right now. KEEP ME UPDATED ON YOUR 60FT TIMES. go to a 1/4 mile track lol,
Steve

Ok, Ok I know my 60 FT times suck donkey ***** and such but like I sead this is with a stock clutch and 10psi. The best 60 FT out of all of those is my 3rd run which was a 2.5357 and thats doing a 5k drop, the sad part is that the tires don't even spin the rpm's just drop down to 2k and my car falls on its face till the turbo kicks in and that happens at 4k.
Also that run I started out at 10psi in 1st gear and scrambled to 12psi in second and kept it there all the way through 3rd gear.
I know one thing thou my mph's are pritty high for the ET's I'm hitting...
This weekend I will be going to a 1/4 track to see what times I hit up there so I will keep you guys posted...
Could someone please give me some tips on getting out of the hole a little bit quicker???
Thanks
Adi

I will be runing some 15" gsr rims with some Nitto 555r's at the track this weekend but I still think that without a clutch i'm pritty much set to get crapy 60 Foot times...

Dude, your reaction times are even worse then your 60's. Get that down and launch the car a little better(on time) and your 60's will for inherantly.
i gotta comment cause u plain flat out suck. 10s in the 1/8th w/GSR turboed. jesus, i did that with a bone stock GSR motor in my civic coupe. u need more practice than a **** star.
Previous comment was not necesary...
just an observation, there is also a possiblity that you may have been rolling out of the staging light at the beginning?
therefore higher 60ft times?
well anyways, ya you just have to play with your rpms that you launch at and feather the gas in the beginning.
good luck

I do a 5k drop and all the car does is fall down to 2k and than I wait for the 60-1 to do its job and that takes a while....

Stop spewing bad info on the net. Die Moron, Die!!!
Be sure you know who it is your talking to before you go ahead and make lame comments like this.
Hmnm, dude do you run 9's in the 1/4. Probably not, so shut up jackass. Im totally sure he knows how to dragrace. Although I dont agree with his comment since RT has nothing to do with ET in test and tune times.

Guys,
I understand the basic components of racing at the track so If sombody posts bad advice I just let it fly and don't care about it but I do wanna let you know that I do appreciate all of your comments into making me running better times, and thats why I posted this question as to I needed some of your thoughts on it.
I knew beforehand that my RT's and 60 FT's are **** to begin with and expected some of you to say that but please don't make it a big fuss and relate it into some big joke on how I need to practice like a pornstar or some **** like that.. I mean WTF??!!
This board is not a competition of who is gona slam down each other the best, its here to help .
Again thanks to everybody and their 2 cents worth and happy honda-teching...
I will try to do better tomorrow at the 1/4 with some smaller drag redials..
Wish me luck!!

Get some practice and definitly get a clutch in there. anything over 2.2 60ft is UNexceptable. your car should be running 8.8's w/ that mph.
