ECU Question
As alot of you know, on an OBD0 ECU, when your cluster shows Check Engine, you can always look at the ECU and the little red LED will flash a certain number of times and it will tell you why its throwing Check Engine. Now here is my question. I still have the STD motor, D15B1 and i have no check engine light. Just for the hell of it, i took a look under my carpeting at the ECU. Now the shocker was that my ECU flashes 16 times. Can anyone tell me why its throwing 16, but i have no check engine light? Also, what 16 is for this engine because I can't find the trouble codes anywhere. Thanks!!
when you have a check engine light come on, the code will be stored in the ECU and will continue to flash until you reset the ECU - whenever you turn the ignition off, the check engine light will go out and will not come back on until another problem is detected, even though the first code is still in the ECU - since the CEL didn't come back on when you started it up again, this means the problem was intermittent and probably nothing to worry about - just reset the ECU and you should be good to go
