so i bought a kvt m700 on ebay for really cheap, the only problem is that it didnt come with any instructions on the installation...ive installed hundreds of cd players for friends and myself but no one was ever rich enough to buy an in dash touch screen monitor...well i hooked everything up and the only problem im having the the power harness on the head unit itself...the brain and everything is hooked up to all the speakers power and ground but the head unit has a power wire (yellow) a ground(black) and one other wire (its a green wire) ive been looking around and i dont know where it connects to...ive tried researching this also but nothing has come up...i can see a blinking light on the head unit itself but any buttons that i push do not make it open...so im assuming the green wire is a safety mechanism for drivers so that they can only watch the screen while in park...but im not sure...does anyone know?

 

u lucky i install for a living. that green wire is for a parking switch. its a saftey feature . u really should do a lil more research tho. if u know that is a kenwood then, then you should have enough common sense to look it up on the kenwood site. ill help u out this time. 2 mins and this is what came up. http://inform2.kenwoodusa.com/manuals/KVTM700.pdf

sorry to say but it seems that you got a bad headunit. The unit should open and close with out the green wire grounded. Thats just the video playback lock out. Make sure the data cable between the brain is connected. The acc wire is in the data cable. Make sure everything has power and ground. If all is well with that it seems to be that you gotten what you payed for.
