y8 tranny swap? quick question..
jus a quick question-
im jw, can i always swap a y8 tranny in b4 i go y7/y8 mini? im thinking about going y7/y8 mini me over the summer then eventually boost but would a y8 tranny be better to drive with just to start with? would it feel slightly better with a stock y7 motor?

Yes.
Z6 = steel shift forks
Y8 = alum shift forks

yeah i am rockin the cx to and it is basically one of the longest if not the longest tranny that honda made for our d-series.
whatever you do i would do the tranny swap and when doing that, swap the clutch and maybe flywheel(flywheel isnt that important to swap if you arent makeing a ton of power(400+)). i wouldnt reccomend swapping the head if you are going boost, only do it if you have internals, i would reccomend swapping the IM and TB. but if you really have your heart set on swapping the head and tranny you might as well get a y8 and just swap that in, you will have less problems.

all 92-00 d-series clutches are interchangeable.
If you're boosting, I recommend you find gripforce clutches on ebay. Find their exedy organic clutch/fidanza flywheel combo. It's THE cheapest package deal.
