F20B owners, does your engine have a steel or aluminum oil pan?
I've heard of a few having aluminum ones. But the one I have is steel, identical to the F23 oil pan
I posted a vote in the steel category but you know what. does yours have an oil cooler (oil sandwich)? cause my doesnt.
thats weird and im trying to figure out why. it does have all the holes for it but unlike the h22 the long screw that would hold it in isnt there and when you remove the oil filter the oil cooler wouldnt even fit there. i know this has nothing to do with the oil pan, but it caught my attention. as i continue building mine, which consists of custom made cp pstons at 12.0:1 compression and rods from race engineering i will find more within the block. jonh over at race told me things about the head and cams that cam with the motor (it came completely assembled so its not like it was modded before i got it) that contradict some things that ive read. like how he measured the valves and the intake valve is 34mm but the exhaust measured at 30mm, the same as an h22 and the cams measured with more lift than h22 oem cams. i sent a reply out for th specs and when i get them i will tell all. the throttle body is much bigger than the h22 one and uses a type r tb gasket. I dont lie this is what ive seen with my own eye and what john has measured. he needed the head to do all the measuring. so even though some fellas have posted info about the f20b, i started to doubt some of their findings when i got the motor on my own and went by what i found on my own.
Not to jump up on ur thread....because I know pretty much nothing about F-series....but i'm wondering why would Honda even make an aluminum oil pan....if that thing hit the ground or speedbump (not unlikely) it would crack like a MF'er. Where as a steel one would prolly just get a nasty dent. I could be way off though, just curious.

you must have a true 5 speed motor then , cool to know . that answers the questions on the cams being bigger . thats wierd on the valves, makes me happy but thats the first time anyone has measuered them lol

that kinda pisses me off even more since H motors advertises a 200hp motor (manual) and sends everyone autos
If i would have know that I would have just bought a full manual swap
