I have a JDM b16a with a J1 tranny in a 91 crx. I am going to swap my cluster which requires an electronic speed sensor. The speed sensor thats in there now is cable because it was used in a crx before i bought that motor. My question is what cars in the US use a VSS that will fit the JDM J1 tranny. Will the 99-00 civic si VSS fit in the b16 J1 tranny? What other model honda's should i get it from and what year?? Must be electronic VSS for new cluster swap!!!!!!!!

 

yeah you can use the 00 si vss..it works

but you dont have to limit yourself to that since theres zero at the junkyard...94 integra will work to and theres usually a bunch at yards..

92-95 civic may even work,however im not sure about those

 

But does it bolt right in or do i have to mod it to make it fit in???

 

no,it goes right in,,you just have to wire it up.

Someone offered me a VSS from a 95 civic si hatch....does this bolt in? Not sure if its from a d series vtec...but if it is will it bolt into a b series tranny??
