Use the OBDII to smog....Thats what I did and then covert back to the OBDI for performance if thats what you are looking for...

the obd2 ecu requires more sensors and stuff to work.. I dont think that would work...

For example, you need 2 o2 sensors instead of only 1.

Just ask around man. There are people out there for an extra 50 bucks will smog anything that drives in front of them. look around for someone who will do it no matter what.

Im still sticking to my answer of no..

The gsr has butterflies, the ls doesnt.

Also, the whole vtec thing.

Especially since it's getting smogged..I really dont think it's gonna work.

i dont think a usdm ecu will pass with the jdm motor.
i believe the using the us ecu will throw a check engine light because it will look for the evap? not sure.

if u run into a smog tech that knows his blocks it work won't no matter what ecu u using. its a jdm block, the stamp will give it away. as far as emission goes it might pass, just not the visual.

^^^^^ exactly what i was thinking.

and at least I'm trying to contribute to the thread.
I gave my opinion, and a very logical explanation as to why I thought what I did. so why dont you try to give some advice instead of ridicule the people thjat are trrying to help??

a nonvtec ecu in a vtec car will not run right. Its as simple as that. With as strict as cali's policy is for smogging, its an extremely, extremely small chance anything good will come out of it.

Good luck with finding a good ecu.
