ECU for Emissions. (NJ)
What ECU should I use when going for my NJ inspection?
- 1998 Honda Civic
- JDM B18C- OBD2
- OBDI Conversion Harness + Chipped P28
- Catalytic Converter equipped
- Apexi Cat-Back
Everything is stock on the motor. I don't think I'm forgetting anythings else.

They will want to tap into your ECU since your car was originally equipped with an obd2 ECU, so I'm pretty sure you'll need one to pass.

Your F*cked basically unless you goto OBD2, thats a simple fact right there.
NJ is strict about OBD compliance, i have first hand experience with that.
Get an OBD2 ITR ecu, and go from there.
Since you still have a cat (assuming its OEM), it will pass fine, assuming the motor is in good running order.

Well, its the only ecu available that i can think of that will run on your motor. Your other option would be to get an OBD2 p75 LS ecu. This would run your motor pretty slow, but without any Check Engine lights and get you thru state inspection. Just use it for inspection, and put the chipped p28 back on when your done.

The evap solonoid should be the hooked up via vaccum line to the manifold, stemming off from the charcol canister.

thats not an obd2 manifold the evap solinoid is on top of the manifold.
you will need the ecu off that motor. so a obd2 gsr ecu is required. if you dont have a knock sensor hooked up you will have to hook that up along with the seconday and primary o2.
