Help Please! Car Misfires
A couple of weeks ago, my Integra LS started misfiring once in a while. Sometimes when I'm accelerating in second gear between 2000 and 3500 rpms, it will misfire. The car feels like it has no power for a second, and the tach will drop 100 rpms and then go back up again. This happens in first and third gear too, but mostly in second gear.
It isn't misfiring all the time though, maybe 5-10 times every time I drive the car. If it's a hot day, and the car is warmed up, then it stops misfiring. My brother thinks it's the spark plugs, or the distributor, he says distributors go bad on Honda's often. My car has 86,000 miles on it, and I want to replace the timing belt soon, because I don't think it has ever been replaced.
If I was pretty sure that was the problem, I would have the Honda dealership replace the spark plugs when I got the car serviced. Has anybody had this same problem with their car, and if so, what fixed the problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
