Default ignition problems possibly?

well i was driving home today (long drive), and in fifth gear the car began to bog from time to time.. so i took it easy on the car.. and as time went on the car began to bog more and more... finally i got off to slow down and the car just died.. i started the car again and it died again.. so i started it and revved it up.. i had to keep it revved in order to keep it running.. to get into first gear it was a struggle, and i would really have to keep it revved. while accelerating through first it would bog all the way up through the gears. when going up hills i guess when more stress was on the engine the car would bog even more. finally the car got to the point where it just kept bogging and not accelerating.. i pulled over into a parking lot and the car is just sitting there.. does anyone know what this potential problem could be??? i was thinking maybe spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor car & rotor possibly??
any help would be great
thanks

Get a check-engine light? Read the error code, it'll be a big clue for what's going on.

Depends on model & year. Older ones have a blinking LED on the ECU, you just pull back the carpet & watch it blink.

If not, find the SCS connector. On my '95 Integra its tucked up to the right of the glove box. Jumper it with a paper clip, turn on the ignition, & the CEL will flash.

A long flash is 10, short is 1. So for example 'long-long-short' would be 21.

Some newer ones don't even have that. My '98 Accord has to plug in a code reader. AutoZoned does that for free.

I assume this can happen to just one spark plug if the cam sensor malfunctioned...?!
stuttering...misfire...nofire...
replace the whole distributor...
