Well I picked up an old BTS 91 CRX SI today for parts and I just noticed that the headlights are glass. I know the EDM ones came glass but are there any ebay stuff that cames glass or just the EDM ones? Any markings I should look for the find out if they are real or not?

 

usdm stanley headlights are glass too.
the jdm light are the plastic ones.
people put the edm lights on their converted front ends so they have the correct light pattern for driving on the right side of the roads[so it doesnt blind on coming drivers]
and the bulbs are h4.
glass housing is a plus too.
do a search next time cause i believe there has been similar threads lately

 

I have read the thread your talking about but they didn't really say how to tell them apart from each other (USDM/EDM). But thanks for the info.

 

So is the H4 bulbs the way to tell between the two?

wasnt trying to be a smart ***,i know its hard to tell over the internet.

Don't worry about it if you have a US front end. They Euro model are longer like the Japanese front end.

Thats not completely true. I have both kinds imported from Europe. The have the civic and crx model 1.6i which has the same front end as us, which is also like the jdm zc model in 88-89, "and" the have the longer style found on VT models in 90-91.

Both styles use H4 bulbs, thats a dead giveaway if you have EDM headlights.

Also, some have the height adjustable feature too which can be found in both styles. Those come in LHD only!

 

EDM and USDM are the same shape and everything just different bulbs.

 

my car is full of 1.6 16v parts and they have the same front end as the usdm cars. Hell Mugen's Pro Kit for the none vtec crx will fit on a usdm crx because of this.

1.6-16v headlamps are the same shape, they will fit on a usdm front because they are the same front end as well.

I'm sorry I was under the impression that only the ZC had the US style headlights in glass. I thought all models in Europe had the longer style lights.

fixed (or did you guys not get 89 VTs?)

I have EDM (German) 91 ZC headlights, they have LHD beam pattern, headlight adjusters, are H4, and are plastic but usually people get glass EDM ones...
