Default HELP!!! B18c1 block with a B16 head

i had a b16a in my hatch! I was a dumbass and didnt see the big water pudle the water got sucked up into my intake and hydrolocked my motor f***in sucks but got to start rebuilding so here is my plan

In sted of buying a b16a block and just rebuilding it back to normal i was thinking about buying a B18c1 (gsr) block and putting my b16 tranny with lsd and my b16 head on the GSR block i dont know much about this setup and would like some advice

about what to buy? what the compression ratio is? would be an advantage to build? what ecu to run p28? or the p30?

if any one has any advice please let me know

If you go with the B16A head, you'll lose .1 compression and a couple hp on the lower end of your powerband. It'll work good though.
If you gonna run obd1, it really dosen't matter which ecu you use if your gonna chip it.

Better off to go with a cheap LS block. Put in some P30 pistons, ARP rodbolts and headstuds, Golden Eagle LS/VTEC conversion kit, and get 11.6:1 compression; use your B16 waterpump, oilpump and pickup, and get a Type R timing belt. Balance the whole bottom end (crank, rods, pistons, clutch, crank pulley) Will be faster than a B18C block would be, and should be around the same price.

Don't forget to tune it, whichever way you decide to go

acutally to make it a poor mans type-r you need type-r pistons, cams, and intake manifold..

Yeah you can use those,,but then it wouldnt be a poor man's type-r ..

the whole point of this motor is to get a type-r motor clone for cheap,,and you're not going to get close with shitty cams, intake manifold, and low compression.
