Default Slow Sol

I have a 93 del sol with a 170 hp B16A, but me and my friends can only get it to run as low as 16.2 in the 1/4 mile. I replaced my TPS and O2 Sensor because i was throwing both those codes, but its still only 16.2. But sometimes when I start out in 1st gear it lags until about 4000 rpm, then it kicks and drives faster. And while im cruising at like 70 mph and i have my cruise control on it will kick randomly like its gotten more power. What should a del sol with that much power be running? Also im throwing a code for the knock sensor, but i wouldnt think that would have ant affect on my performance. I dont know whats going on, so if anyone can help that would be awesome.

That's a normal time for the del slo.

The "magic b16" doesn't make any car much faster than that.

im sure your sol is faster just ran a 100% stock em1 and did 15'8@91mph.

your sol should be 300-500 pounds lighter depending on car so im sure your car has a issue or you can not drive or both

knock sensor code will make your car slow, i ran a 16.3 with my z6 Del Sol

PS: get your codes fixed then run the car, that is very stupid practice

Engine isn't monitoring AFR's efficiently enough, bad burns possible, less power?

your knock sensor is a vital part of the computer. When the computer get a signal fromt he knock sensor it retards timing by a lot to prevent detonation. And the power is also decreaed due to the timing being off.im sure your b16a with 170 hp is only pushing about 110 with the timing being off.you should just hope that it is a bad senosr and not acual knock.

Um, no.

A stock '93 del Sol S (the lightest del Sol) weighs 2277lbs. Add on the extra weight of the B-series drivetrain and you're pushing at least 2350lbs. The lightest del Sol therefore only weighs about 260lbs less than an EM1.
