this has me scratching my head..
So my '88 dx sedan has mysteriously started giving me problems (d15b2 dpfi).. It started out as an occasional bog at low speeds, which changed to it running decently well until it warmed up, which has rapidly progressed to the point the car is undrivable.
It still has a solid idle, and revs smoothly in neutral (although that even seems to be slipping away). It does not feel like a misfire on a particular cylinder, but the motor as a whole starving for fuel or spark.
So far I have swapped the distributor, main relay, and fuel filter. The car has had a CEL since I got it which broke down to code 1 (O2 sensor - replaced), code 7 (throttle position sensor?) and code 15 (fuel injector?- I think i can hear the lower one working when I place a screwdriver on it and listen through the handle. The Upper seems to be givin a good shot of fuel when revved in neutral) Keep in mind it has had these codes stored since day one, and ran fine, unless one or all of those problems have progressed for the worse.
Any and all ideas are more than welcome. It sucks riding the motorcycle to work in the rain!

I'm working on a compression test, but number 1 spark plug is being a bitch coming out. I'm working a good size blister from pulling on the ratchet so hard.

My 90 LX kinda sounds the same way. Only when it warms up it's fine. After 5min everythings ok. I'll be watching this post for sure to see what I may have in the near future.

I feel ya. I rode mine to high school and work everyday, rain or shine.

I'm getting to that, so far I've just been trying suspect stuff that I already have lying around.
I have done the O2 sensor a couple months back and that code remains. Wondering if I may have a ground issue? Other than that I may try a junk yard throttle body if I don't get this figured out by the weekend.
I also just did a compression test. It looked good.. threw in some new plugs. Hadn't had a chance to drive it yet, but it doesnt sound much better.

i had an 89 with a dp in it for a little while, and i had the exact same thing. I dont know what honda calls it, but there was something akin to a pcv valve made of metal on top of the oil seperator. take it out and clean both sides of it with brakekleen until when you shake it it rattles. it fixed the problem for me, i hope it works for you too.

Thanks, I will def. try that. I'm running out of ideas. Its at the very end of a tank.. I'm going to pour 5 more gallons in to help rule out crappy gas or water in the fuel.. It's just crazy how fast it's getting worse.
The problem your describing sounds to me like your fuel pump is not able to put out enough volume or pressure. You need a pressure gauge to check the pressure, but what your describing sounds exactly like what I've been wrestling with for the last month. I finally built an adapter to use a oil pressure gauge, on the fuel filter adapter and I was only getting 20psi and as soon as I would try to open the throttle, it would choke and hack.
On mine, I got bamboozeled because the real problem was the pressure regulater had gotten stuck closed, so when I had put in a new pump, it blew a hole in the connection hose, in the tank. I had replaced the pump, with a new one, so I figured it had to be something else.
For the adapter I made, I used a regulat 1/4 inch pipe adapter, drilled it for clearance for a 6mm bolt, drilled a small hole through the bolt and soldered it into the pipe adapter.
