Default Help - car slides to right over manholes, etc.

My 06 civic lx coupe always feels unstable when I drive over inset manhole covers or large potholes with the right font or rear tires. The car doesn't actually lose traction but the suspension feels like it shifts to the right when it happens. It only occurs when the right side of the car goes over the defect in the road.

My tires are fine. The car does not track to one direction either. It feels like it's in the suspension . . . Any ideas?

wow, probably the worst advice I've ever received. I would only post this issue if i knew it to be abnormal, which it is.

This is not bad advice, he's right. And so is everyone else...avoid hitting large potholes and inset manholes. This happens to my 98 also...not abnormal.

Its the variable tire geometry road tire curvature technology adaptive control system. Someone explained it in another thread already

Hmm well my old car did not have this issue, I guess the civic is more susceptible to it. I also have 17" TSX wheels and Bridgestone tires, which may contribute?

And for those of you who told me to avoid those issues in the road, you obviously don't live in Los Angeles.

What size tires are you running? 'Low-profile' tires will make you feel everything a lot more -- from cracks/bumps to the crown/ slope of the road.

maybe because if you compare the tsx to a civic
the civic is more nimble (you can toss it around)
the tsx is more "luxury"
a softer ride, completely different suspension setups as well
