Oil rings and compression rings are two different items. You can have perfect compression but sh*tty oil rings.
This is a common occurance on DOHC VTEC B-series motors. If you don't break in the engine properly (read), your oil rings will suffer the consequence.

im having the same problem. pretty decent compression acrosss the board at
cylinder 1-4= 220-225-235-230
good luck, im hoping to just hone the cylinder walls then widen the cylinder wanting to keep it like stock.

Thanks for the link. Do u still have to break in a motor that was used and already had about 40 k miles on it. cus that is how many miles r on this motor when i bought it. also when we built the motor all we added was cams and valves ect. we never touched the bottem end. and we broke the cams in at 2,500 rpms for 30 mins. thanks
