Its gravy dude. get you car on jack stands.
Take apart your center console and expose the shift stick
get under car. Disconnect shift linkage from tranny and then shift stick.
Drop the pieces out of the car.
Install is exact oposite. Use some grease on the shift pivot ball thingy.

Its really easy bro. Just get under there and look.

Jack the car up, get under it, losen the shift linkage, and the other thing. Then you can pull the shifter out of the bottom, and repeat the process, and your done. Pretty simple.. Good luck, but I am getting ready to get rid of my short shifter, it sucks..

i had some cheesy short shifter in my old crx, i liked how it shortened the throw, but @ high rpms' in first & second it seemed to jump out of gear, it was installed correctly. Are all SS's like that? Ive been thinkin about getting one for4 my civic, but i also heard it can screw up your transimission, is tha true?

I have short shifters in my CRX, Civic, and Integra and I have never had that problem. What kind of shifter do you have?

its not the shifter that hurts the tranny its your shifting, its real easy to shift before u even get the clutch pressed all the way, which leads to the infamous syncrho eating grinds.

Well in my Civic and my Teg I have a "FOCUZ" SS, in my CRX I have a JG/Lightspeed SS and I haven't had problems with either.

ok, lets just clear up some terminology here... shift linkage consists of a torque rod and a shift rod.
