Default problem with my tail lights/seat belt light

welp about 2 weeks ago i had to get my car towed home due to my oil line cracking on me from the turbo to the oil sender unit. i had my dad come and tow me home cause i was only about 2.5 miles from home so we towed it home with your normal chain hooked to the tow hook. as we were on our way back up a hill my pops accidentally jerked the car really hard. about a week later i got my parts and got the car running again and noticed that my break lights no longer work and my seat belt warning light keeps blinking in the center of the dash. bulbs on the lights are good and the parking lights also work. is there not a fuse for just the break lights? any ideas what could be wrong? all advice/ help is greatly appreciated. cars a 89 crx si.

Well, im not all to sure what the problem might be, but i mean, if he jerked the car that badly, maybe a plug came loose behind the cluster, which could be why your seat belt light is flickering, i know when something is unplugged around the cluster, none of my lights come one, so it's just something you could check. also look under your dash at all the fuses, and maybe the ones under the hood. sorry i dont exactly know...i did just talk to one of my buddies and he said to check all your fuses and your grounds, so its just something to check. sorry i cant be more help.

there is a fuse for the break lights in the fuse box under the hood.. i THINK it's the second one from the passanger side.. at least on mine.. not sure about the seat belt light though.. mine has never worked since i've had the car

do you have a helms?

theres a control unit for those seatbelt locking mechanism AND that little indicator light above the rear view mirror.

it also has a troubleshooting flowchart, i suspect that unit may have been damaged internally from the shock you gave the car while towing it...

or it could be a short somewhere, based on what your saying about the lights. either way you have some wiring tracing to do if all the fuses are good.

my friend had the same problem hit a big bump one day and his breaklights and gauge cluster lights stoped working so he changed the fuse under the dash in slot 8 taillights itnstument lights, and they worked again
